Today (June 19, 2025), Mr. Poj Aramwattananon, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand, spoke about the economic impacts from the political problems in Thailand. He personally believes that Thailand is currently in a very high-risk situation because before this incident happened, Thailand was already in the midst of an economic storm, both from geopolitical conflicts, the US raising tariffs in retaliation against trade, and the conflict between Israel and Iran. Each issue is still unresolved and we don’t know when it will end. Meanwhile, Thai tourism is still not good due to the loss of Chinese tourists. In addition, the government budget is not enough, causing an additional 150 billion baht in public debt, while the capital market is still not good.
